Pax Christi Maine Remembers Ursula Slavick

Family and friends from all over Maine and beyond gathered together on Saturday November 23, 2024 to honor and remember Ursula Slavick, a beloved member of Pax Christi Maine. A beautiful Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Paul Sullivan, SJ, and Fr. Frank Morin at St. Pius X Church in Portland.

Ursula along with her husband, Bill were leaders in the formation of our Pax Christi Maine faith community in the early 1980s. Ursula dedicated her life to educating young people and serving others both at Sacred Heart/St. Dominic food pantry, at St. Pius, in her community and in Haiti, where she and Bill founded and for decades supported a school for girls.

Ursula lived her life devoted to her faith & her family, as an advocate who promoted peace, justice and equity for all. Following her funeral Mass, over a hundred people gathered at the Italian Heritage Center for a reception and to share stories of Ursula’s generosity and wholehearted love for everyone.
